We are here to help.
Your Emergency Dental Visit
Whether you are new to our office or a valued regular patient, we are here to put you at ease. Our team will update your medical history and take an x-ray of the painful area to assist Dr. Gill with diagnosing your condition, and you will receive reassurance every step of the way. We know that dental pain causes stress.
Dr. Gill will focus on your problem and eliminate your pain with prompt treatment. Whether you need a filling, crown, root canal, or extraction, you will leave feeling much better!
Root Canal Therapy
One of the most common dental emergencies we treat is infection inside the tooth, which often requires root canal therapy. Root canal treatment is not painful but actually relieves the pain caused by the infection.
After numbing the tooth with local anesthetic, Dr. Gill will remove the bacteria, infection, nerve, and pulp from the tooth. We use high-tech rotary instruments for improved accuracy and ideal outcomes. Rotary instruments have tiny titanium tips that gently treat the inside of the canal much faster than could be accomplished with older methods.
Dr. Gill will then sterilize the inside of the tooth and fill it to close the canal. Finally, he will place a temporary filling in the tooth until your body completes the healing process.
In most cases, we will recommend a dental crown to protect your root canal-treated tooth from fracturing.
Unless we are removing a troublesome wisdom tooth, a dental extraction is often the last resort for treatment when other restorative dentistry is not possible. In many cases, we provide comfortable dental extractions right here in our Elk Grove dental office without the need for a referral.
